Benefits of Using a Professional to Clean Your Mattress
Vacuuming
Even though you may not recognize it, your mattress will undoubtedly collect dust over a period of time. Eventually, you may notice that your mattress smells bad or that you suffer from allergic reactions when around your bed. This can make what is supposed to be the most comfortable part of your home the least comfortable. Cleaning your mattress will make it more comfortable and will allow it to last longer. Here are some reasons why you should hire professionals that understand how to clean a mattress.
Total removal of dust
You may think that you can simply use your household vacuum cleaner to remove the dust that lies on your bed. While you may get most of the dust off the mattress, your vacuum cleaner probably hasn’t been designed for this task and may kick some of that dust into the air. This will cause more problems for your household as now that dust is everywhere, making it difficult to breathe. This is especially troubling if you have children or elderly people in your home as they need fresh air more than anyone else. A professional cleaning service will ensure that all dust on your mattress is properly cleaned up and not spread around your home.
Extend the life of your mattress
A mattress is an expensive investment, so you don’t want to cause unnecessary wear if you can avoid it. Unless you understand how a mattress is supposed to be cleaned, you may accidentally cause harm to the material, which could shorten its lifespan. Whether or not the cleaning supplies you use will cause damage depends on the material of the mattress. The safest way to clean your mattress is to call on professionals. They have the necessary tools for a complete and safe cleaning so that your mattress will last as long as possible.
Stain removal
If you remove the sheet from your bed, you might notice that there are stains on your mattress. Depending on the cause of these stains and how they are treated, they could cause your mattress to deteriorate if not properly treated. A professional mattress cleaner will know how to properly remove the stains on your mattress, allowing it to look like new and last longer.
Convenience
Sweeping, mopping, and lawn tasks are all things that most homeowners must fit into their weekly activities to keep their house looking beautiful. Cleaning your mattress is adding one more task to your already busy schedule. You can avoid this by hiring a professional to clean your mattress. They ensure that all dust is gone and remove any stains with efficiency. A mattress is an expensive investment that should be well taken care of to extend its lifespan. A professional that understands how to clean a mattress will complete a quality cleaning. Contact Kairos Upholstery if you’re in need of a mattress cleaning in your home.

Benefits of Furniture Reupholstery
Reupholstered furniture is a good way to take advantage of the solid construction of a vintage piece of furniture. Chairs, sofas, or love seats are furniture items you may have in your attic right now, or you may have spotted a great piece in a resale shop that is in pretty bad shape. Rest assured, you have options to save any piece. There are other benefits for reupholstering older furniture as well, and we’ve listed a few below.
Save money
You certainly could purchase new furniture for less money, but most factory made furniture does not possess that vintage look and style that you may want in your home.In some cases, it may be cheaper to restore an older piece of furniture than to purchase a new one. It really depends on the condition of the individual piece. While it may be possible to find cheaper items at large discount furniture stores, if you are looking for a replacement of an antique piece, check out comparable prices in vintage shops and see if you aren’t getting a better deal with reupholstered furniture.
Choose your color and designs
Whether you choose to do your own chair reupholstery, or decide to have a professional do it for you, you can exercise a little more control over the fabric that is used. If you are searching for a vintage love seat in antique shops, you may find a piece that suits your aesthetic tastes and that will look great in your living room; then again you may not. When you are doing it yourself, you have more options in choosing different fabrics and color combinations. You can tailor the restoration to get exactly the right fit to match the decor of your home.
They don’t make them like they used to
Let’s face it, some things just aren’t made to last anymore. This is true with about every product or appliance you buy today. We live in a disposable society. This hasn’t always been true. In the past, furniture was made to last, which is probably why you have those antique pieces you want to restore in the first place. Investing a little time, money, and effort into reupholstered furniture will ensure that you have these vintage furniture pieces well into the future.
Changing décor
If you are planning on redecorating a room in your home, instead of buying a new chair to match the new design, consider chair reupholstery instead. Before you decide to have a piece of furniture redone, you should perform a few quick inspections to see if it’s feasible or even possible. While some of the most abused and damaged pieces are salvageable, it becomes a question of how much time and effort you are willing to spend.
Environmentally wise
Maybe this is not at the top of your list of reasons for choosing reupholstered furniture over a modern store bought item, but it’s certainly an added benefit. You are basically repurposing a piece that otherwise might go to a landfill. That’s worth the effort.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I re-upholster, if it’s cheaper to buy something new?
If you haven’t noticed we are living in a disposable society. The current life span of most retail furniture only averages about 5 years. Upholstery can offer your furniture a life span of anywhere between 5 to 20 years.
What fabrics are kid and pet-friendly?
Most of our vendors provide durable, water repellent, and washable fabric. Ultimately it will be our goal to provide the best fabric to suit your needs as well as your overall design and aesthetic.
How long does upholstery generally take?
From the collection to your finished product we generally estimate about 5 to 15 working days depending on the work we have in the workshop. However, most of our estimates are on a custom basis and can vary. Please allow for this time but never hesitate to ask us for a more specific time frame for your piece or in special instances for rushed service.
How can I make my upholstery last?
We always ensure that with every piece that we upholster, we take the time to thoroughly inspect the quality and durability of your piece. In doing this inspection of your piece, it allows us to really assess the longevity and quality of your piece. We always recommend the best for our clients and try to assist them in making educated decisions.
Do you upholster outdoor furniture?
Yes!
Can you change the overall style of a piece?
In some cases yes, but we would really need to inspect and ensure that your money was being spent properly when changing the style of a piece. If you have any further questions please feel free to email, send us a Whatsapp message or call us anytime.
What if I have my own fabric?
Will you still do the labor for me?Of course! We can work with fabric that you provide as well as our own.
Is it less expensive to have my furniture re-upholstered than just buy new?
That depends! If your furniture can be replaced very cheaply then it’s likely that re-upholstering it will cost more. However, if your furniture is of a good quality and has many years use left in it, then customers often feel it is worthwhile having it professionally re-upholstered, rather than sending it to landfill!
How do I get a quote for re-upholstery?
You can send us the pictures of the upholstered furniture you would like to recover by email or Whatsapp.
How do I know if my piece is worth upholstering?
A piece is worth reupholstering if it has a good frame; kiln-dried hardwood with corner blocks is a good indicator. Older pieces (typically 15 years old or older) tend to be of better quality. Sentimental pieces, such as a grandparent’s favorite chair, are great candidates for upholstery. Custom built spaces are also perfect projects for us to help you with because we will have cushions patterned to fit perfectly in the space.
What can I do to make my upholstery last longer?
We recommend fabric protection to guard against soiling. We also can make armcovers and headrests to protect the highest wearing areas of you furniture.
